Little Book Little Book the Easy Whiskey
Piffling Book Batch ane: "The Piece of cake"
Class American Blended Whiskey
Average Price $80 US Retail
Positives
Big and bold. Total of classic bourbon notes plus an extra layer of creaminess.
Negatives
This whiskey is hot, and needs plenty of time in the glass or a chip of water added to it to settle down.
Must Attempt! This is an excellent whiskey. The proof is high, the body is total, and the profile is deep. The extra whiskeys in the blend add dimensions of spice and sugariness beyond what is typically plant in the bourbon.
Information technology's hard to think of a proper noun more synonymous with bourbon whiskey than Jim Axle. Well now it is Axle-Suntory. And in a motility away from the norm, Little Book is a composite American whiskey, not a bourbon. This is the first of what appears to be an almanac express release blended by Freddie Noe, the viiith generation distiller at Jim Beam, and son of the legendary Booker Noe. It is distilled and aged in Clermont, Kentucky at the Beam-Suntory facility.
Notes:
- A alloy of thirteen yr onetime corn whiskey aged in refill barrels, 4 yr old straight bourbon, 6 year former high rye bourbon, and 6 yr old malt whiskey.
- Bottled uncut and unfiltered at 64.one% ABV (128.2 proof)
Nose: Cream, toasted nuts, peanut breakable, and spices at the first. It transitions from at that place into oak, leather, tobacco, and a hint of citrus.
Torso: Big and assuming profile with sugariness oak and peanuts upfront then some rye like spices and foam. The darker notes – tobacco and leather – come out mid palate, along with some vanilla and a peppery spice.
Finish: Toasted basics and rye spice with a fiddling cream. Information technology finishes long and sweet with vanilla and oak and a peppery like spice that balances the sweetness well.
Buying Recommendation: Must Endeavour! This is an excellent whiskey. The proof is high, the body is total, and the profile is deep. I establish alot of notes here to exist similar to Booker's, merely the extra whiskeys in the blend add dimensions of spice and sweet beyond what is typically establish in the bourbon. This is a whiskey any enthusiast should endeavour – whether that's from a cascade at a bar or a canteen at retail for $80. Fifty-fifty if y'all aren't a Axle fan, this stands out above the typical Beam product as an all around fun, flavorful, and exciting whiskey.
The Rating Scale
At WBSE We use a total 100 signal rating scale, with a goal of utilizing the unabridged scale rather than just a limited portion of it. This is done in order to provide a greater level of separation between whiskey scores than is possible on a letter form or 1-10 scale. Due to our use of the entire 100 point scale, our scores may seem lower than you lot would expect. Therefore, to help define what our scores bespeak, we've created the following scale descriptions:
0-nineteen Not but bad, but completely nonredeemable. Break the glass and scrape my tongue.
twenty-29 I tin can't find a unmarried positive to this dram.
30-39 The blemishes far outweigh the positives. At that place is no point at all to sipping this neat.
40-49 There are some positive qualities hither, but they're outshined by the flaws.
50-59 Totally boilerplate. Non offputting, but certainly unexciting.
60-69 A quality, enjoyable whiskey, but is lacking any "wow" gene. I'll gladly drink it at a bar and buy a bottle if the toll is correct.
seventy-79 A really good whiskey! I'thousand seeking out a bottle and recommending it to others.
80-89 The definition of "WOW"! Actually excellent. I'd dear to have a canteen or vi of this.
90-99 The highest peak. Few can reach this. Among the best whiskeys, I've ever had.
